TrialMonitor automatically classifies every trial user into a priority segment so you know who to focus on each day. No spreadsheets, no guessing, no cross-referencing multiple tools.
All trial users look the same in Stripe
Stripe tells you who is trialing. It does not tell you who found value, who is drifting away, or who is about to expire without ever engaging. That context lives across your analytics, your logs, and your memory.
Without a clear system, you end up treating every trial user the same - or worse, only noticing the ones who happen to catch your eye. The quiet ones slip away unnoticed.
Three signals, seven segments
TrialMonitor combines three signals to classify each trial user: whether they have hit their aha moment, how recently they were active, and how much time is left on their trial. These signals produce seven distinct segments, each suggesting a different action.
Segments update automatically as new events arrive and trial clocks tick down. You always see the current state of every trial without lifting a finger.
The seven segments
On Track to Convert
Found value, still engaged, trial ending soon. These users are likely to convert on their own - stay available and remove any friction.
Found Value
Hit the aha moment with plenty of time remaining. Monitor their progress and nurture the relationship.
Exploring
Recently active but no aha moment yet. Point them in the right direction with a helpful tip or resource.
Gone Quiet
Found value but stopped engaging. A friendly check-in could rekindle their interest before it fades completely.
Needs Nudge
No aha moment and gone quiet. Guide them toward the value moment with a targeted message or offer to help.
Slipping Away
No value moment and trial ending soon. This is your last window to offer hands-on help before the trial expires.
Last Chance
Found value but trial ends today or tomorrow. A quick personal email could seal the deal.
Fully customisable
Every trial flow is different. TrialMonitor lets you rename segments, adjust activity thresholds, and tune the timing windows to match your product. If your trials run for 30 days instead of 14, the segments adapt accordingly.
You define what counts as an aha event and an activity event. TrialMonitor handles the rest.
Getting started
Connect your Stripe account and segments appear immediately based on trial timing and billing status. Add aha and activity events from your backend for full segmentation across all seven segments.
Stripe-only mode works with zero code changes. Adding the Events API takes about 30 minutes of backend work.
